The new Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Corry has been open for a few weeks. But this afternoon was the official grand opening.

Developers, builders, and community leaders cut a ribbon to mark the occasion, with a crowd of supporters looking on.

Corry had not had a hotel in many years.

Community leaders think it will encourage economic development. And backers think the 37 room hotel is the right fit for Corry.

Developer Tom Kennedy said, "Well I know it is going to be successful because the Cobblestone brand was designed for communities like Corry. It is a small town hotel that offers quality rooms, quality service at an affordable price."

The same investors behind the Corry hotel are building Cobblestone hotels along Erie's Bayfront Parkway and near Penn State Behrend.
