“The DFA Think Contest” is a New York City based digital filmmaking contest established and sponsored by the Digital Film Academy in New York City. This contest is designed to encourage young and aspiring filmmakers to jumpstart their filmmaking careers by encouraging them to write, shoot and edit their original content using all digital media tools available to them. The contestants are challenged to tell impact full stories of social significance within a limited running time of 60 seconds.
New York, NY, September 05, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Eligible filmmakers should make a 60 second short film using the topic, “Think: Perception, The New reality.” The 60 second videos are to be posted exclusively on Twitter and Instagram as the winners will be determined by the number of views, retweets and likes their videos get on Twitter and Instagram combined. This Contest is strictly based on the response and participation of social media users. The film can be any genre i.e. comedy, drama, silent, horror, etc.
Director of the best film wins a brand new Digital Camera and lens. Directors of the top 20 films get to attend a free 2-Day intensive digital filmmaking workshop at Digital Film Academy where they are taught directing for film and digital media, editing, cinematography and introduction to the RED Camera, audio, screenwriting, etc. The 20 filmmakers are split into Two groups where they will write and shoot their own 5 minute short, which will eventually be screened at DFA with industry professionals and media as well as family and friends of the young filmmakers.
