Robert Gadimian: EHT® Could Help Prevent Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Loss

According to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia but it is not a part of normal aging. Luckily there is a worldwide effort under way to find a better way to treat the disease and delay its onset and prevent it from developing.

Coffee Molecules Have Health Benefits

It is well-known fact that people who consume a lot of coffee have less risk of getting Parkinson or Alzheimer's disease. The extract Gadimian refers to is called EHT (eicosanyl-5-hydoxytryptamide). EHT is believed to have properties that can help fight Alzheimer's disease and the brain damage and memory loss associated with it.

EHT Works to Strengthen Microtubules

Microtubules are the structural component of neurons and work as conveyer belts inside the neuron. They also serve a cytoskeletal role in the neuron. EHT strengthens microtubules by activating PP2A to protect and strengthen neuron connections by preventing damage to tau, an essential brain protein. PP2A mediates the majority of total tau phosphatase activity in the human brain. Tau protein normally stabilizes microtubules. Activating PP2A leads to the formation of stronger tau bonds within microtubules.

EHT Promotes Better Brain Health.

When strong tau bonds are formed within neurons they may help to actually promote improved athletic performance as well as better brain health to aid against environmental stressors as well as physical stressors that we encounter when participating in athletic activities. Gadimian explains that weak tau bonds are formed from causes such as head trauma from athletic activity, aging, poor diet, alcohol consumption and environmental stressors. EHT and stronger tau bonds correlate with stronger neuronal connections, leading to greater learning potential.

Role of EHT In Other Diseases

Alterations in PP2A regulating proteins, its catalytic activity, subunit expression, methylation and phosphorylation patterns have been reported in Alzheimer's disease-affected brain regions. Increased phosphorylation of PP2A which causes dysfunction of tau plays a key role in worsening neuron function and development of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson.

PP2A-related pathways are perturbed in many diseases. PP2A controls many cellular functions ranging from metabolism, cell cycle, DNA replication, growth and apoptosis. It is commonly dysregulated and deactivated in a variety of cancers and other diseases including neurodegeneration which causes Alzheimer's and Parkinson diseases.

There is reason to believe that EHT which stabilizes PP2A can help improve neuron function and prevent the progress of the Alzheimer's disease by stabilizing tau. Since EHT stabilizes and protects PP2A, it can be beneficial for many more diseases in addition to Alzheimer's2. Theoretically, EHT can help prevent the cancer development by stabilizing PP2A which is its turn is a tumor suppressor.
