The Warren County man convicted of first-degree murder in his wife's shooting death will spend the rest of his life behind bars without the possibility of parole.

A judge handed down the sentence Friday morning for Matthew White, 34.

A jury of nine women and three men convicted White after just one hour of deliberations Thursday.

It happened in June 2017 outside the couple's home on Brown Hill Road in Sugar Grove.

Prosecutors said Matthew shot his wife Jessica White four times inside of their car then shot himself in the chest.

Against his lawyer's advice, Matthew took the stand Thursday, where he testified two masked men shot his wife and then him.

The Warren County District Attorney said Matthew made the whole story up.
