A Millcreek Township woman who police said was caring for a 3-year-old child when he/she suffered multiple injuries has been charged.

Carly N. Ferraro, 25, was arraigned Wednesday on a charge of endangering the welfare

The incident happened on July 4. Police said the child was taken to UPMC Hamot by his father for treatment of the injuries.

Investigators said Ferraro made no attempts to get medical treatment for the child, and she could not explain how the injuries happened or why she never sought treatment.

She also left the child in the care of a person who was unable to appropriately take care of the child on multiple occasions, according to police.

Ferraro was released on $15,000 unsecured bond.
