Penn Shore Winery and Vineyards was Pennsylvania's first licensed winery.

It celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.

It is also one of the region's largest wineries.

Owner Jeff Ore took over the business 14 years ago.

He says the wine business has changed significantly with the demand for higher quality wine increasing.

He said, "It has changed. I would say because the wine consumers are becoming much more educated, their palates are becoming more developed."

Penn Shore bottles a lot of wine, about 75,000 bottles every year, 26 varieties in all

And business keeps increasing, with the company now adding two out-of-town  retail outlets.

Ore said, "We've set up one location in Kane. And we are setting up another in Cook's Forest."

Ore sees the growth continuing, not just for Penn Shore but for the entire industry.
