Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman in east Erie.

It was reported as a stabbing in the 2500 block of Wallace St. around 9:52 a.m.

The victim, who is a woman in her 30s who lived at the address, suffered a single stab wound to neck, according to police at the scene.

Investigators say a man, believed to be her boyfriend, was covered in blood, and ran to District Judge Paul Bizzarro's office yelling for help. Judge Bizzarro followed the man to the home to see if he could provide help, but saw she was clearly dead.

According to investigators, police are questioning the victim's boyfriend, it's not clear if the boyfriend is a witness or suspect at this time.

Investigators are gathering security camera evidence from the scene.

The Erie County Deputy Coroner responded to the scene, an autopsy on her body is scheduled for 11:00 Tuesday morning.
