Man Sentenced for Burglarizing Erie Home of Drowning Victims
One of four people charged in the burglary of an Erie home hours after two men drowned inside found out Wednesday morning how long he will spend behind bars.
Shannon Lambert, 19, was sentenced to four to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary and theft by unlawful taking. He also owes at least $5,000 in restitution.
The crime happened the night of a storm in November 2017.
The basement wall of a home along East 30th Street in Erie collapsed and killing two men who lived there.
Police said Lambert and the other suspects read about the deaths on Facebook.
Within hours of the drownings, they allegedly broke into the home through a back kitchen window and stole items including TVs and jewelry, according to police.
