A local organization is awarding more than 200 grants totaling over three million dollars to nonprofits across the community.

The Erie Community Foundation announced the recipients of its "Helping Today" and "Urgent" grants Thursday morning at ServErie on Parade St. 91 scholarship and 105 Donor Directed grants were also announced. Through generous donations, the Foundation is dispersing a check worth $3.6 million.

The grants will help support local organizations focused on revitalizing Erie's neighborhoods.

"A lot of great work has been done in the community. That's why we came here to ServErie to highlight the work they do, and they are one of our grant recipients also, " said Mike Batchelor, President of the Erie Community Foundation.

These grants are handed out four times per year.
