A total of 18 young cattle were found along the interstate in Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio after escaping from a moving truck Tuesday.

The cattle exited the vehicle being transported from Hinsdale, N.Y. to Canaan Township, Ohio, along Interstate 86 in New York and Pennsylvania and Interstate 90 in Pennsylvania and Ohio, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's office reported that it located six bovine. Pennsylvania State Police found seven, while the Ohio Highway Patrol located five.

The cattle are being temporarily housed by farmers across the three states, State Police said.
