Big Crowd for Erie Free Narcan Distribution, Supply Gone in Just Two Hours
About twenty people were in line at 11:00 am today for the start of a free Narcan distribution at the Blasco Library.
The state funded distribution was run locally by the Erie County Health Department with help from LECOM Health.
Workers gave out kits containing two nasal spray units containing Narcan, also known as Naloxone, a drug that can reverse the effects of a opioid overdose.
But the demand quickly exhausted the supply.
The 120 kits were gone in two hours.
Workers will remain at the library until 7:00 p.m. providing information about Narcan.
Senior Reporter Paul Wagner talked with many of the people who picked up the Narcan kits.
