A federal indictment has been unsealed in a December bank robbery in the City of Erie.

It names Peter Plaza Jr., who waived his right to a preliminary hearing last week.

The indictment said he used violence and intimidation to take $4,570 from the Northwest Bank on Liberty St. Dec. 13.

Plaza said he left a bomb during the robbery at the entrance to one of the offices, according to police.

The bomb squad was called to the scene and determined there was nothing dangerous inside.

Plaza is currently in custody at the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center for the bank robbery.
