This Martin Luther King Holiday, the Erie Bayhawks are giving the community a unique chance to honor Dr. King, and help the community too.

Back on Saturday, Bayhawks players wore a unique jersey, during the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration game, in honor of the life and legacy of Dr. King.

It featured Dr. King's image, along with the word "Dream" of course, in memory of his infamous "I Have a Dream” speech.

Local artist Ceasar Westbrook created the design, “Just to be able to be a part of this, to be the one who designed it, also the holiday and who it's for… it's just very satisfying, and just to be involved was very humbling,” said Westbrook.

And now, the game-day jerseys are all being auctioned off, with all of the proceeds going to Erie's MLK Center, “Among all the things he (Dr. King Jr.) stood for, one of them is helping community and helping those less fortunate and this was an opportunity to do that,” said Bayhawks Team President, Matt Bresee.

The jerseys are being auctioned off through Saturday on eBay.
