Valentine's Day Extravaganza Organized for Kids with Disabilities
Valentine's Day is associated with romantic love, but a Penn State Behrend student organized an event to show how love can be shared among families with special needs kids.
Morgan Yelverton, a sophomore at Behrend, hosted the second annual Valentine's Day Extravaganza at Davis Elementary School in North East.
The event was designed to be inclusive for kids with all sorts of disabilities.
They joined in craft stations, games and other activities all set up to accommodate children with special needs.
"We're just here to accept and hopefully get some more special needs children just really feel included in the North East community," said Yelverton. "That's what we were trying to do to feel the love at Valentine's Day."
This was the second year. Yelverton hopes to bring it back again next year.
