Initial demolition work on the McAllister Building is set to start later this week.

Fencing and signage is set to go up Thursday. Work to cut the roofline will start Monday with demolition slated to start two days later on Wednesday, Feb. 20.

Backfilling the site is scheduled for March 12 and cleaning the site will follow March 15.

Weather or unforeseen conditions could postpone the work.

The Erie Port Authority Board voted unanimously Dec. 12 to move forward with plans to demolish the buildings on East Dobbins Landing.

Out of ten bidders, they awarded the $140,000 bid to Pro Quality Land Development of Campbell, Ohio.

The McAllister building is really three properties that are connected. The oldest section dates back to 1928.
