Wanted Erie Man Gets Jail Time for Leading Police on Chase
The Erie man who led state police on a chase through parts of Pennsylvania and New York learned Wednesday he will spend two years behind bars.
A judge handed down the sentence for William Lisek, 48, for attempted robbery and fleeing from police.
He took off as officers tried to pull his car over in Erie in July 2018.
The chase topped speeds of 100 miles per hour and stretched into Chautauqua County, N.Y.
A Pennsylvania state trooper risked his life to protect others as Lisek drove the wrong way on parts of Interstate 86.
The trooper intentionally hit Lisek's car to stop him and eventually took him into custody.
Police said Lisek was already wanted on robbery and weapons charges.
