Vanessa Herring

I joined 12News in February 2010 after graduating from Edinboro University in just three years.  I majored in broadcast journalism, and had a minor in history.  

I got my start in television eight years ago (hard to believe, right?!) as a co-host for the McDonald's Steelers KidZONE in my hometown of Pittsburgh.  I spent four amazing years co-hosting the show for the Black and Gold. 

While there I had the privilege of covering the 2004 NFL Draft and shooting on-location at the NFL Hall of Fame.  I went on to intern with the Steelers production department in the summer of 2008 where I had the opportunity to co-host the 2008 Men's Fantasy Camp Show.  

I'm a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and I often serve as a volunteer for several different Erie-area organizations.
