A Crawford County judge is expected to rule on a proposed settlement to end a legal dispute between the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the board of trustees of Conneaut Lake Park on Thursday Afternoon.
The state has been attempting to oust the current trustees.
Among the charges, the board failed to insure both the Beach Club and Dreamland Ballroom. Both buildings were destroyed by fire. The trustees denied any wrongdoing, blaming the lack of money for the lack of insurance.
If the settlement is approved, changes to the board are possible.
The lawyer for the trustees, Brian Pulito said, "The consent decree will affect the current makeup of the board in that the trustees that are now in place have made certain concessions about their future role that hopefully if the court agrees, will change the makeup of the board going forward."
Even if the settlement is approved the park still faces more than $900,000 in back taxes.
