Summer Storm Leaves Heavy Damage in Erie Area

From shingles blown off roofs and lawn furniture being swept away by the wind, to branches and even large trees crashing into homes and yards,
Tuesday was another night of wild weather, with the fury of a summer storm unleashed on our area.

Here's a look at some of the destruction caused in the path of the storms.

A tree crashed into a mobile home in, around 7:30 Tuesday night. It toppled onto a trailer at 28 Rena Drive, in Spring Creek Mobile Home Park.

No one was inside when the tree went down. Witnesses say lightning struck the trunk.

On East Lake Road, more trees were down, this time, crashing through yards, fences, and even breaking windows.

One of the hardest hit areas was the 1800 block.  Neighbors told us it looked like a tornado ripped through their yards.

On East 7th Street, it was a similar scenario; trees and wires down, with debris blown all over.

The wind also caused a giant tent to partially collapse in the city. People were inside when part of the tent went down in Roger Young Park.

There was reportedly a church event going on inside when winds picked up.

Luckily, responders tell us no one was hurt.
