More than 100-thousand visitors will make their way to one of Erie's most popular destinations this weekend.

They're heading to Presque Isle for the Discover Presque Isle festival, which kicked off Friday afternoon.

With more than 100 vendors and a variety of  events on the schedule for this weekend, there's something for everyone to do. We caught up with a few visitors who say the festival is a family tradition.

"It was nice to come up and see the water and all of the activities going on," said Larry Trevisan of Pittsburgh. "It's not too bad for the third most sad city that I read about the other day," said John Lehotsky of Erie. "So we're doing OK."

Discover Presque Isle runs through Sunday near the Waterworks Pier.
