Discover PI Brings Bands, Bonfires and Sand Sculptors to Beaches

The Presque Isle Partnership is inviting local people and visitors to "Discover Presque Isle" all this weekend. Saturday's festivities included the "Best on the Beach" sand sculpture competition at Beach 8.. Artists of all skill levels took part, creating impressive masterpieces in the sand.

Saturday afternoon and into the evening though, Beach 8 was about music and the traditional bonfire. Four bands rocked the beach, with "Taylor-Maid" closing out the sounds on the sand.

Sunday is the final day of the three day event to show off the park and raise funds for improvements. You can enjoy the massive craft show with over 100 vendors. And there's a pancake breakfast, lighthouse tours, and fish print making throughout the day. You can also learn how to ride a segway, test ride kayaks and paddle boards or go on a pontoon boat ride.
