The annual procession of the Virgin Mary was held Sunday afternoon in Erie's Little Italy neighborhood

Following the 11 a.m.. mass, hundreds of parishioners walked through Little Italy carrying a statue of the Virgin Mary. The procession is an annual tradition on the last day of St. Paul's Italian Festival.

"We always consider it like reunion," said festival chairman Ron DeVecchio. "Every year, people that probably don't come back down to Little Italy, but they'll come for this. And it's just like meeting old friends again. So it's really nice."

The Italian Festival runs until 10 p.m. Sunday and will wrap up with a spaghetti eating contest.
