New Occupants Filling Former Millcreek Walmart

The old Walmart store on West 23rd Street in Millcreek was vacant for over a year and a half.  But soon, that building will be completely re-occupied.

The non profit agency, Erie Homes for Children and Adults, is renovating 10,000 square feet in the center of the building.  It will locate its MOVE program at the site.  The program assists people with intellectual disabilities to become active in the community.  The agency will move-in next month.

It will join the Achievement Center, who moved into the west side of the old Walmart last September.  Erie Insurance located offices on the east side last month.

"We're excited about that opportunity that we can give more families and more individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity for more community involvement," said Debra Niland, MOVE Director.

The MOVE program outgrew its current location at the Professional Building on Peach Street.
