U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Paradise Baxter Celebrates 20 Years on the Federal Bench
U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Paradise Baxter is celebrating 20 years serving on the federal bench.
In honor of the milestone, dozens of friends and colleagues held a surprise party for Judge Baxter Friday at the U.S. District Courthouse. Throughout her career, Baxter has handled thousands of cases, participated in several associations, and has served as chief magistrate judge. She says the party was surprising and humbling.
"I had no idea this is happening," she said. "We had a board of judges meeting here and all the judges were here from Pittsburgh and I was feeling bad that it snowed. And when I walked into this room and saw so many people, I just couldn't believe it. I am a very blessed woman."
Baxter says one of the best things about working in Erie County, is the "high level" of legal practice.
