The city of Bradford is in a state of emergency evening following a 24-inch water main break Monday evening.
Engineers are still working to repair the section of the pipe that cracked completely in half but the big problem is a water shortage in the city.
The pipe that cracked feeds the water treatment plant which supplies the entire city with clean water. There is no longer any water in the city as a 3-million gallon tank and a 2-million gallon tank both depleted in less than 24-hours following the break.
Currently FEMA is trucking in 17-truckloads of drinkable water for the city's use.
Officials do not have a timetable on when the pipe will be repaired but did tell WIVB News 4 in Buffalo that a new section of pipe was cut in the afternoon and installed just before 6 p.m. Crews are working around the clock to get it installed but even if it is repaired overnight a boil water order will remain in effect until daily tests are completed.
Residents have been cautioned about frozen pipes in their homes because there is currently no water pressure in the pipes.
