Electric Materials in North East opened its doors in 1915. And a century later, the firm is still going strong making copper products for customers all over the world.

 Three to five million pounds of metal will move through the plant this year. Copper is king. but many other metals are used too.

 The company is a one stop shop for hundreds of customers.

 Company President Ronald Alcorn said, "They can place an order. They don't have to go to 2 or 3 different shops to get what they need. They can get it right here."

 Big and small companies have been buying products from Electric Materials for a century. The company has grown from 15,000 to 420,000 square feet. Products ranging from trolley wheels a century ago to modern high-tech computators used in today's electric motors.

 Recently the company has been on the upswing after the economic downturn of 2008.

 Alcorn said, "This has been a long down cycle for us. But we are slowly re-building out of that."
