GE Layoffs Approaching Total Number Anticipated

GE job cuts close to projections

Erie News Now has an update, on the layoffs the Erie GE Transportation plant. The company projected late last fall, it would reduce the workforce by 15-hundred jobs. GE is almost there.

Between layoffs and retirements, UE 506 president Scott Slawson told us, the company has cut 1,435 jobs, as of today. That leaves the union with just 1,700 workers at the Erie GE plant.

GE spokeswoman, Cathy Heiman tells us that 15 hundred is still the total number, of anticipated job cuts.
