Demolition has started on a former Millcreek Township business to make way for a popular fast food restaurant.

Work to tear down the former Sears Auto Center began over the weekend to make way for a Sonic Drive-In, which will be the first for our area.

The plans call for a 3,200-square-foot restaurant at the site.

Demolition work will wrap up soon. Construction will then begin on the popular eatery.

There is no word on just when construction is expected to be completed.

There are more than 3,500 Sonics located in 45 states.
