Suspect Charged with Burglarizing Two Businesses Waives Preliminary Hearing
The suspect charged in connection to a string of smash and grab break-in burglaries throughout the city of Erie, will now face trial in two cases.
On Thursday, 43-year-old Jose Flores waived his right to a preliminary hearing on two counts of burglary.
On January 8, Flores is accused of breaking into the One Stop on West 32nd Street.
Erie News Now obtained surveillance video of the break-in, which shows the suspect kicking the door several times before using a rock to smash his way in.
The man, who police identify as Flores, then climbed into the store, went through the cash register and stole several items.
Flores is also accused of burglarizing the Presque Isle Militaria Antiques and Collectibles on West 26th Street.
Police have charged Flores with breaking into a total of 20 buildings.
Flores next preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 13.
