Man Arrested, Charged After 9-Hour Standoff in McKean Township
Pennsylvania State Police took a man into custody Friday morning after a standoff lasting nine hours in McKean Township.
Craig S. Humphries, 49, of McKean, was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person. He was then sent to the Erie County Prison with bail set at $150,000.
Troopers were called to the 8300 block of Lowe Rd. for a welfare check around 12:03 a.m. Friday.
Humphries armed himself and refused to come out of the home when troopers arrived, according to State Police. He also fired rounds out of the residence, troopers said.
The State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was called to the scene and made several attempts to get Humphries to surrender.
After several hours, tear gas was used, and Humphries surrendered, according to State Police.
