Suspect in Fatal Pizza Hut Shooting to Face Trial
The Harborcreek Township man accused of killing his former girlfriend inside of a local Pizza Hut is now set to face trial.
Luis Rodriguez, 48, is charged in the shooting death of his 25-year-old girlfriend Alicia Stalheim.
The violent incident happened while she was working at the Pizza Hut restaurant along East 38th Street in Erie, last November.
Police say Stalheim died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Another employee was also wounded, but survived.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office plans to go for a first-degree murder conviction, which would mean life in prison without the possibility of parole for Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is expected to face trial in September.
Rodriquez’ lawyer Alison Scarpitti asked Judge Joseph Walsh to provide Rodriguez with a translator, at his trial.
