A mother-daughter duo is the force behind Erie's newest bakery and cafe.

Cafe 7-10 opened Wednesday morning on W. 10 St. in Erie.

It specializes in bread baked from scratch.

From cinnamon sour cream bread to gluten free brownies, the cafe offers all kinds of sweets.

The duo said it started with the mother's banana peanut butter and chocolate bread recipe, and the rest of the business quickly fell into place.

"It's in honor of my mom, Cafe 7-10," said Mabel Howard, co-owner. "The 7-10 is actually represents her birthday, so it's a gift to her so it made sense. When we checked out a couple of addresses, the first one to pop out was actually 7 West 10th Street. We knew even before walking into the building that that's the place we need to be."

Cafe 7-10 is open seven days per week. You can learn more on its Facebook page.
