Although we're not expecting new snow in the immediate forecast, there was enough natural and man-made snow on the ground for Mount Pleasant of Edinboro to open its tube park Saturday.

The weather was just perfect for the first day of tubing, and families lined up for the fun.

It's cold enough to keep the snow around, but the bright sunshine also made an appearance.

There were even some children visiting from Florida who enjoyed the snowy rides down the slope.

While they hope the weather cooperates to get the ski and snowboard slopes going for the start of January, it's all about the tubing for now.

"We like to try to get open and get Christmas in, but we have eight lanes open - the only tubing park that has eight lanes," said Bryan Shepard, lift operator. "Basically, they ride up on the lift. It releases. We've got a couple of guys up there; they send everyone down on cue. That's basically the gist of it. It's a very fun, little hill."

Mount Pleasant of Edinboro is a small, family resort that has been serving the local community for more than 40 years.

It will be open 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and Monday and 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Christmas Eve.
