Update: Fire Damages Home of Cambridge Springs Firefighter

Multiple fire companies responded to the scene of a stubborn structure fire in Cambridge Springs.
It broke out about 8:50 p.m. in a home at 229 McClellan Street. It appears to be a two and a half story frame home with lattice work across the front.
Firefighters from Cambridge Springs, Venango, Saegertown, West Mead 2, Edinboro, Mill Village and the Crawford County scuba team all responded to the scene.
The scuba team assisted with refilling air tanks.
Erie News Now sent a crew to the fire scene. We learned that the structure is home to a fire department member and his family. The parents and the children all escaped to safety.
Firefighters stayed on the scene for quite a while, putting out hot spots. More than 90 minutes after the initial fire call, smoke was still streaming out of the upper level windows.
There is also heavy damage at the rear of the home.
There is no indication yet on what sparked the fire.
The Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the family.
