LOOKING BACK: Airman's Family Shares Christmas Memories
The holiday season is all about spending time with loved ones but for one family in Erie this Christmas they are looking back at the past, longing for that time together.
Michael Boccio is in the United States Air Force and his family looks back at the part Christmas's when he was home.
"Every time he comes into town we get every minute that we can with him and we make it count," says Micheal's Sisters.
His family tells Erie News Now a memory of him surprising them one Christmas.
Seeing him in person with all the surprises is something that his family will cherish but they are thankful for the ever changing technology that allows him
to be present.
"I love him and miss him so much, I'm just so glad we have the technology to see him," says Micheal's mother,Susan Shumac.
They are getting through this holiday season by being strong together as a family.
"Holding on as a family that's the most important, still being there for each other."
Boccio's family is waiting for the day he'll surprise them at home because they don't know when they will see him about.
Erie News Now would like to wish all service men and women separated from their families a peaceful holiday season.
