The Crime Victim Center in Erie decked out the halls with lights and holiday decorations in hopes to spread joy for people overcoming trauma this holiday season. This tradition is more than a decade long.

“So many people come here to talk about really unhappy and traumatic events and if we can make it homey and more happy and more safe that's not only good for the clients it’s good for the community," said Executive Director of Crime Victim Center, Paul Lukach.

Every year the crime center decorates each hallway from top to bottom. The staff chooses a new theme every year and has just one afternoon to make it happen, but they say it's worth every second.

“It reminds us that we're here. We're here for people when they really need us. We're here 24 hours 7 days a week," said Executive Director of Crime Victim Center, Paul Lukach.

The Crime Victim Center said visitors are welcome to stop by and take a peek at the lights.
