The Erie Innovation District is moving forward without its current leader.

CEO Karl Sanchack is leaving the organization. He has served as the group's inaugural leader.

The Innovation District said Sanchack "has served as a catalyst to put us on the map for innovation and bring us where we are today."

The organization also said, "As EID develops, we seek to build on those successes to date and evolve to best align with the broad momentum of the Erie community."

Sanchack has worked in the tech, aerospace and defense industries. He came to Erie from a Virginia consulting firm that focused on innovation.
