A woman and boy were killed when a log truck hit their Amish buggy in Venango County Sunday afternoon, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers were called to the crash in the 2400 block of Clintonville Rd. (State Route 208) around 3:05 p.m.
The horse-drawn buggy was traveling eastbound when it was hit from behind by the log truck, investigators said.
The buggy was occupied by a family of five. An adult female and juvenile male were pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers. An adult male was flow to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, and a juvenile female was taken by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. A juvenile male was treated at Grove City Medical Center and released.
The driver of the log truck is cooperating with investigators, State Police said. The vehicle has also been secured.
The road was closed for several hours while investigators, including the Venango County District Attorney and Coroner, were on scene.
