How Coronavirus is Affecting Travel Agencies and their Clients

As coronavirus is spreading across the globe, many people are raising questions about upcoming travel plans. Whether it is about spring break or summer plans. Travel is something everyone is concerned about.

At this point many travel agencies including AAA and local travel agencies are taking a wait and see approach and offering information to their clients. They say travel is a personal decision but travelers should consult with their travel agencies. Homer Mosco, the Owner of Miller Travel Service said, "we advise the client what the current conditions are, they make their own mind, we do not, advise anybody not to do something or to do something, we give them the facts and let them make up their own mind."
Travel agencies have not seen too many cancellations, rather travelers are postponing trips or making decisions as they get closer. Mosco went onto say “travel to Europe is almost non-existent, unless you absolutely have to go, they're not traveling, all of the tourist areas are closed out so there's no reason to travel there."

People are still traveling internationally; Mexico and the Caribbean are still popular destinations. Travel to Europe and Asia are the ones that are being monitored the most right now.
