The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania is hosting a Produce Express distribution event in North East Monday.
It's all part of Second Harvest's efforts to meet the growing demand for food in the midst of the pandemic.
The food distribution event is free to those who income-qualify and includes fresh, healthy produce, as well as other grocery items and non-food essentials.
The Produce Express Drive Thru will take place at Gravel Pit Park on Route 20 in North East on Monday beginning at 4 p.m. Food will be distributed on a first come, first-served basis.
Participants can register by calling the Second Harvest Food Bank, according to Second Harvest officials. A photo ID is required.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, Second Harvest volunteers will only load food items into the trunk of participants' vehicles. Participants are also asked to wear a face covering.
