The homeowner was found dead after a house fire in Ripley, N.Y. early Saturday morning, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.
Ripley Fire Department was called to a house fire in the 9000 block of Old Rt. 20. around 5:35 a.m.
Firefighters found the owner - Richard McCutcheon, 63 - dead inside the home, the Sheriff's Office said.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire and McCutcheon's death.
Westfield, Sherman, Fuller Hose and Chautauqua County Emergency Services also assisted at the scene.
