Erie Seawolves to Open 2021 Season in May

The Erie SeaWolves will open their 2021 season in May, according to the team schedule released Thursday.

The first game is Tuesday, May 4, against the Reading Fightin Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Opening night at UPMC Park will be Tuesday, May 11, when the SeaWolves host the Akron RubberDucks.

The 2021 schedule includes 120 total games, with 60 home games split evenly between weekdays and weekends. Monday will be a day off for all the teams in the league.

All series between Double-A Northeast League opponents will be six games to limit travel due to coronavirus.

Due to the late start, the team's season will wrap up at UPMC Park Sunday, Sept. 19, which is about two weeks later than the traditional Labor Day finish.

Fan attendance policies will be announced before the season starts. Seating will comply with all state and local capacity limits and physical distancing requirements.

Fans who interested in attending multiple games are encouraged to place a $50 deposit by phone (814-456-1300) or at the UPMC Park Administrative Office for priority placement in the seat selection process for 2021 ticket packages.

More information is available on the SeaWolves website.
