Former Titusville Teacher to Spend 5 Years in Prison for Having Sex with 14 Year Old

A former Titusville teacher will spend at least five years in prison after investigators said she had sex at least 10 times with 14-year-old boy.

Rochelle L. Cressman, 34, of Titusville, was sentenced Tuesday to serve five to 10 years in prison followed by 10 years probation. She pleaded guilty to three charges of statutory sexual assault, which are all first-degree felony charges, Nov. 10. Sixty-three other charges were dropped as part of the plea.

State Police said the investigation started after they were notified by the victim's mother.

Cressman and the 14 year old had been in an intimate relationship that started in September 2018 and ended in April 2019, according to troopers. It reportedly happened at multiple locations, including a private residence on Springcreek Rd. in Oil Creek Township and on N. Martin St. in the City of Titusville.

The victim told investigators during an interview he had sex with Cressman at least 10 times and had multiple other sexual encounters with her.

The Titusville Area School District's superintendent confirmed to Erie News Now that Cressman was a middle school health and physical education teacher who was hired in 2009. She has not been with the district since April 2019.

Cressman was arrested and arraigned on the charges May 8, 2019. She posted bond five days later and will receive six days credit for time served toward her sentence.
