Erie County Councilman Andre Horton has announced his candidacy for a third term, according to a press release Tuesday.
Horton is set to launch his campaign on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
A longtime advocate of the Erie County Community College, Horton says he is eager to see the school through the next stages of development in a third term.
Horton also says he intends to focus on ways to bring equitable prosperity to the people of the 2nd District and all of Erie County, as well as helping small businesses get the relief they need to recover from the devastating impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
The campaign kickoff event will take place at ABC 24-hour Child Care, 1325 State St. in Erie. A livestream of the event will be broadcast on Horton's campaign Facebook page.
Horton was first elected to Erie County Council in 2013.
