Typically a busy day downtown State Street for local bars and restaurants but with no parade and restrictions in place this year it's going to look different.
Calamari's is thrilled to be open today for Saint Patrick's Day as last year their doors were closed.
While restrictions are still put into place, owners tell Erie News Now they'll still have their traditional Irish celebration just with a few changes this year.
They normally have a traditional breakfast buffet but with the pandemic that's one thing that's changed but, you'll still be able to get those Irish favorites just served from the kitchen.
Mask wearing, tables 6 feet apart, and reservations recommended in order to enjoy the celebration.
Owner Marci Honard says they're just excited to be open this Saint Patrick's Day, "for the last at least decade we've gotten to be more of a restaurant then that 3 deep, 5 deep bar anyway so it's nice. After we do our breakfast we kind of roll into lunch and dinner specials and we've been cooking since last Friday 800 pounds of corn beef, we do the traditional boiled dinner, Guinness stew and our reubens with brisket, it's a place that people stop in throughout the day."
Calamari's opened at 7 a.m. and will be celebrating until midnight.
