Erie Maritime Museum, Drake Well Museum to Reopen April 30

State-owned historical sites and museums, including the Erie Maritime Museum and Flagship Niagara, will reopen Friday, April 30, the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) announced Wednesday.

Titusville's Drake Well Museum will also reopen April 30.

PHMC historic sites and museums have been closed since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.

All of PHMC's facilities will open with enhanced pandemic guidelines in place. Reduced hours of operation will also be in effect.

Visitors, volunteers and staff will be required to wear a face mask when entering and while visiting sites or when near others on the grounds. Social distancing will also be required.

Additional guidelines in effect include capacity limitations, enhanced hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting.

No events or gatherings, including exhibit openings, special events and facility rentals will be permitted at this time. School groups, including groups of homeschoolers, will resume in the fall.
