More than $17.7 Million in Pandemic Financial Assistance Available to Erie County Renters

More than $17.7 million is available to Erie County renters to help pay back past due rent payments and utilities such as gas, electric, water and sewer, Erie County Care Management (ECCM) CEO Charles Barber announced Wednesday. 

Through pandemic relief funding, the state and federal governments have made $17,740,000 available to Erie County renters to take care of past due balances going back to March 13, 2020, according to Barber. 

Since the application process opened on Monday, 603 individuals have applied for relief. 

Renters can apply through the ECCM website. Tenants and landlords will need to fill out different parts of the application.
