Flooding in Titusville

Floodwaters tore through Titusville Tuesday, flooding parts of the city for the second time in four days.

North Martin Street was covered with several inches of rain Tuesday night, and emergency crews arrived and closed the road to traffic.

People who live in the area say they're no strangers to flooding.

Church Run usually is quite shallow, but a couple times a summer, rain comes, and creek rises quickly and overflows its banks, creating a dangerous situation.

"The roadways were like rivers all the way down our building all the way down the street," said Gary Bedow. "I saw a yellow car literally floating down the road."

Residents say they hope city council will address the issue and come up with a way to prevent in more flooding in their neighborhood.

A truck will come through the hardest-hit areas at 7 Saturday morning, picking up rain-damaged items for proper disposal.
