Jovon Johnson

Jovon Johnson is a sports analyst and contributor to the Erie News Now team.
Jovon played professional football in the NFL and the Canadian Football League. He played defensive back for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Montreal Alouettes, Ottawa Redblacks, Winnipeg dougBlue Bombers and was a Pittsburgh Steeler. In addition, he was a 6x All Pro in the CFL and won the Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award in 2011, becoming the first Defensive Back ever to garner the award.
He played college football for the University of Iowa. He ranks second all-time in interceptions with 17. An All Big Ten Player in 2002, 2003 and 2005.
He has volunteered as a youth mentor through his Jovon Johnson Academy. The Academy puts an emphasis on discipline, player development, training, education and empowerment.
He also was Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach for Defiance College (Ohio).
