Cathedral Prep Names Mike Krahe Next Head Football Coach

Cathedral Prep announced Mike Krahe as the next head football coach Thursday.

I am honored and humbled to be given this opportunity to be the head football coach at Cathedral Prep," Krahe said. "I would like to thank the selection comittee for entrusting me to carry the rich traditions of Cathedral Prep football."

Krahe is no stranger to the Ramblers. He returns to Cathedral Prep after serving as the defensive coordinator for six seasons from 2014-to 2019. He joined Cathedral Prep in 2013 as the defensive line coach.

Krahe helped Cathedral Prep advance to four state championship games, winning three from 2016-to 2018.

Krahe joined the Ramblers after serving as the defensive coordinator at Lake Erie College.

He is a 2000 Cathedral Prep graduate. He was a defensive end for the Ramblers and was part of the 1999 team that finished as the state runner-up.

Krahe takes over the program from longtime head coach Mike Mischler who announced his retirement in February. Mischler was the head coach at Cathedral Prep for 20 seasons during two tenures with the Ramblers.

"I would like to thank Coach Mike Mischler for everything he has done to help me grow and develop as a coach and as a person," Krahe said. "As a graduate, former player, and coach of Cathedral Prep, I feel blessed to be able to give back to the school that has helped make me the man I am today. I am excited and can't wait to start working with the student-athletes and help them reach their full potential on and off the field."
